Praha Village is a 91-unit senior living community in New Prague, Minnesota, that opened in January 2019.
The community includes independent living and assisted living apartments, respite care and memory care units. Even prior to opening, Praha Village had become engrained in the community of New Prague through growing relationships with people and organizations. Aligning with the Makado principle of creating living environments that are woven into the fabric of the community, our team engaged in a substantive listening project among various stakeholders in the New Prague community to identify qualities that resonate for citizens of New Prague and potential residents of the new community.
The Makado team chose New Prague because we were drawn to its rich history, access to health care and strong sense of community.
Upscale Living, Hometown Vibe
The Rosemount is a 92-unit senior living community that opened in 2016. The Rosemount features independent living, assisted living, care suites, respite care and memory care residences.
The Rosemount aligns with Makado’s vision of developing buildings that will become part of the local fabric. It is centrally located within the busy hub of the downtown district of Rosemount, Minnesota, with a physical connection to the Steeple Center — a city-owned community center that is open daily, hosting various groups, as well being available for weddings, meetings, parties and performances. In addition, The Rosemount is in close proximity to three schools, a library, parks and the downtown district.
The Rosemount highlights our company’s ability to identify opportunities other developers have passed on — Makado was the third developer to attempt to build on the site after the previous two bowed out because The Rosemount didn’t fit a preconceived, formulaic model.
Maple Brook Lots

In 2012, Makado purchased 30 acres of farmland in Maple Grove, Minnesota; successfully navigated the development process; installed the infrastructure; and delivered 56 residential home lots to four builders for homes that sold in a price range from $600,000 to $1.2 million. The first lots were delivered in less than three months from the groundbreaking. To the best of our team’s knowledge, it was the first time that a national builder (Pulte) and local builders (Gonyea Homes, Creek Hill Custom Homes and Donnay Homes) purchased lots in the same development, which provided a rich variety of housing options and helped to create a more interesting and varied neighborhood.
